Peter, just a quick question. When a company files an IND the FDA has 30 days to respond saying no trial can be begun.

What I would like to know is, does the FDA also notify a company that it can go ahead before the 30 day period has terminated? Or does the o.k. to proceed come mainly by receiving no negative response?

Any statistics on how many request for INDs are turned down.
