You make a good point about the 60% figure: Some of us have become too focused on tech-land. We may be at or near capitulation on the Nasdaq, or it may flail around in any direction with a lower boundary around/above 2000 (big round number; pre-98 crash high, confirmed as support thereafter), but the carnage in the broader market just isn't anywhere near as dramatic. Getting the P/C ratio, VIX, Investment Advisers, and other such indicators up to the levels that some are waiting for might require much more damage in, or apparent danger to, the 80% of the stock market that isn't tech. Maybe when and if the Dow slams back under 10000 and the S&P threatens 1200...
