Great post!

I have similar memories of the 70s. One thing that strikes me is that it seemed that people were more friendly and easy going, but I could feel that way because I was a child then.

I think the margarine was "Promise", and I recall that Jimmy Carter wanted us to set our thermostats to 68f, not 67. Although maybe the policy was different for public schools.

I remember they served fried chicken for school lunch after he got elected and it was disgusting.
