This is the greatest thing I have discovered for the Palm:

It is called VNC( Virtual Network Computing): I am able to completely access all features on my PC from my Palm by setting up a server. You can do this on Windows 95/98/2000/NT/CE, Unix and a Mac OS: It took me a few hours to do this but I am now able to view my Java Enabled Real Time Streaming Quotes from Quicken on my Palm. You need to set up a server on your operating system first. The file for this is free; but you need to read carefully how to set it up:

uk.research.att.com

Then you need to download the VNC file for the Palm:

harakan.btinternet.co.uk

Read the documentation closely and follow it. You need to get your IP address from the Internet service provider you use. I use Time Warner Road Runner Cable. You then need to turn your screen saver off. Otherwise that is what you will see when you access your PC from your Palm pending when you have your screen saver programmed to come on.

The bottom line is that you can achieve full internet access from your palm, browse the web using Internet Explorer or Netscape, and create and edit documents using your Word and Excell Files. You can even instruct your computer from your palm to print documents in your home. It is truly amazing. Through Palm VNC, you can use a JAVA Enabled Browser on your Palm. What you see is your whole PC on your Palm exactly the way you left it at home. If you use streaming real time Java quotes from Quicken, as I do, you see it update in real time on your Palm. Browse the Web on your palm using any Java Enabled Browser from home. You need a wireless modem, however. I use Verizon Wireless, along with the Novatel Minstrel Wireless III modem. My friend uses this with Omnisky and it works beautifully.

It don't get better than this, folks. The Palm VNC is a small file too. It supports the whole Palm III and Palm 5 series; but not the Palm net service, I think.

Complete control of your PC from your palm. Now that's Power!

PS Documents can only be written, along with commands in Graffiti.
