The pain of owning Intel is great. Having your net worth decline 50% in a few weeks is painful, even though you are back to where you were 15 months ago.

But what about the dot.com stock holders ? They must be all wiped out ! I wonder how they are managing to cope with an almost complete vaporization of their assets ?

Apparently several dot.com employees cashed out. Silicon Valley real estate prices stabilized this summer, despite the April bloodbath. It is hard to tell the state of real estate right now, since traditionally there is little real estate activity at this time of the year.

The economic growth rate has declined, but the slowdown is not yet a recession. Will Greenspan's soft landing stay soft ? The extensive and massive vaporation of wealth could rapidly lead to a massive and prolonged hard landing. I wish Greenspan sees the danger, and cuts interest rates immediately. The situation is snowballing as we watch.
