I agree with you about the CA utilities...I would not be surprised if California's economy collapsed in a heap of rubble....positions are getting more and more intransigent. First it's Not In My Back Yard, now it's Not My Problem....sheesh. Here's an article from a couple of "consumer advocates." ...Freed from government oversight, the 11 independent companies that generate power for California are manipulating the supply of electricity to create shortages. [Yes, natgas prices, lack of power plants and transmission lines had nothing to do with it.] ...To avert a human and economic disaster, the state must resume the responsibility for ensuring that our electricity is provided in a safe, reliable and affordable manner. First, the energy cartel must be busted: California and federal authorities should obtain search warrants and subpoenas to enter the power plants to determine the true cause of the shortages. [Maybe the Pikachus went on strike, fellas.] If necessary, the plants should be seized to protect public health and safety.
