I think that the PPT and the daily "ramp" activites in the market are different ideas. The PPT is most likely the group formed after the 87 crash, the Working Group on the Markets (or something like that). Certainly it is real and the market rigging actions in Oct 87 were real. Without a doubt, Greenspan timed his rate cut in 98 to squeeze the short sellers. The daily "ramp" and mysterious surges in Spoos in the wee hours of the night are the types of activities that could easily be performed by any Wall Street institution. I agree that complaining about this is whining. Of course, whining by bears is much more acceptable, IMHO, because the deck is stacked against them. The reason we complain about bulls whining so much, I suspect, is because they are like spoiled rich kids who don't know how much is being handed to them in a silver platter. BWDIK . . .
