According to the newsletter that I subscribe to, the Gold and FN proposed merger has been refiled at the request of the SA government.The government has taken a lot of heat for preventing this merger and apparently is reconsidering It has been reported in several of the local papers. Both companies are staying quiet for now and a decision is not likely until January.

Has anyone else heard of this?
