Windows2000 Pro:

I can't find the drivers for most of the hardware I've got.
I have two modems:
- Compaq 56KV90HSF (came with my Compaq presario laptop);
- 3Com Megahertz 3CXM756 (Global modem)

none seems to be supported for W2K.
Contacted Compaq (here in NZ), they turned my back on me, they sold me a system with W98, that's it, Took a bit of arguing about the world moving ahead, etc., before they promissed to investigate the options, but haven't heard back from them.

3Com modem is a different story. When I was buying it (also for my laptop), I studied the manual, which clearly stipulated that the driver for W2K was not available YET, as at the time of the release of the modem W2K was not yet released. That I took for a clear indication, that the modem will support W2K in a future. Guess what? Nothing so far, they don't know what I want from them.

The same problem with my new Iomega Zip CD writer (I haven't contacted them yet).

Any suggestions?

Another question:
I've tried to uninstall W2k (to re-install it, for a practice). The manual refers to a Syc.com utility.
What is it? I can't find it anywhere. Apparently I need to boot my computer from a floppy disk with Syc.com on it, to be able to uninstall Windows2000.

I have an evaluation version of W2K server (full, legal, from Microsoft office), but I don't use it in any network application yet, so it is supposed to work as a W2K Pro.
It dual boots with Windows98.

BTW: Is W2K a popular topic here? I'm trying to learn, bought a W2k MCSE study system (book), but find all sorts of problems when trying to follow the step by step exercises.
I don't want to bore people here with my questions, if they are not what this thread is for.

Thanks and Merry Christmas
