We haven't discussed it yet but it is on the menu. Right now I am reading a jewel of a book called "When we Went First Class" by Ellen Williamson and published by the Iowa State University Press. Ellen was born into the Quaker Oats family and her recollections are detailed, marvellous and very, very funny at times. She was a girl in the teens and early twenties and the family wintered in Santa Barbara (because Iowa winters were so awful) and summered in Michigan (because Iowa summers were so awful.) Lots of details about travel and "motoring," boarding schools and Vassar (where she attended college.) I am reading it slowly to savor it.
