Peter: Forget those bestseller lists. Semis are cyclical stocks. Go and look at Gottfried's BTB charts. This should give you a good idea when to buy and sell semi stocks. At the beginning I was also thinking like you but suffering (and quite substantially) through the last downturn in the 90's I learned my lesson. So, if this is really the beginning of a big Semi downcycle (which could last a year or longer) AMD could easily be cut in half again (even from where we are today) at the bottom at the downcycle.
