I'm betting on a bounce too, though 2600 seems lofty to me.

Hi Poet,
I think we will cut through 2600 with ease. Did you catch Cramer on CNBC this evening. Has been doing a lot of shorting but is long some big tech names and very bullish on financials and I believe on drugs as well. Seems very bullish on the market now. His words will carry some weight as he did well this year.

Are you trying options on anything as strategic plays and not just day trades.
I have been loading up on all kinds of finanicals and old economy cyclicals.
This has been a momentum market the last 2 years---one year value and the other year tech. To me that means we are headed for a broad rally.
Given how much cheaper the options are in the old economy as well as financials, it has become my favorite area of speculation.
Techs are OK for options as well but only the blue chips.
The high fliers are good as stock holdings with a long time horizon. Their options are just too expensive and there are better risk/rewards elsewhere.
Looking for some put opportunities on gas/oil stocks sometime in January.

Diversified is the way to go, IMHO.
