As someone was kind enough to point out by PM, I made a careless error in this post:

Eight seconds is .13 minutes, but the time required is 0.13 seconds so G* retailers could bill SMS for as little as 1/3 of a cent to send such a message and still get their blessed 1.50$/minute.
