The problem with your argument is that not all Republicans wanted Clinton to be impeached. Not all Republicans are in the Religious Right. And so on and so forth.
My sister is a Democrat, but she hates Clinton - in fact, I don't really know any Democrats that like Clinton.
I can't remember the name for the fallacy of assuming that all members of a group are the same.
As for me, there are things I would like to see changed, and there are things that I want to preserve. Gee, it's Christmas time, so maybe I should make my list.
Dear Santa,
Please bring everyone on earth a roof over their heads, and food in their bellies, and clothes to keep them warm. Please bring everyone on earth medical care, so no one is in pain needlessly, and no one dies too soon. While you're at it, can you please throw in corrective surgery for everyone who was born with a birth defect, or was injured?
And can you please bring effective contraception for every woman who doesn't want to have any more children at the present time?
Please bring everyone on earth a good education, and the opportunity to be gainfully employed.
Please bring everyone on earth enough electricity to run a refrigerator and electric lights. Please bring everyone on earth clean water to drink and bathe in. Please bring everyone on earth a furnace to keep them warm in the winter, if it's cold where they live. I know people don't need airconditioning unless they are old or sick, but please make sure the old and sick people aren't too hot in the summer.
Please give every child on earth a family who loves him or her. Please give every old person, every sick person, every helpless person someone who cares about them. Please let every man and every woman meet the right person to fall in love with and live happily ever after.
Please let everyone on earth live in a political system where they are not oppressed. Please change the hearts of all the hard-hearted people so that they no longer are so hard and so cold.
Please change the hearts of all of us so that we are kind to each other, and grateful for what we have, and eager to get up in the morning and do what needs to be done to make this world a better place.
Please save the whales. Please save all God's creatures, and please keep our wild places wild forever.
As for me, there really isn't anything I need, except that everyone around me would probably like it if you brought me a better temper.
