James Gilmore is a really fine man, and his wife is a wonderful woman. I met them when he was running for Attorney General - he was very serious and principled and at the same time, idealistic. He was in favor of trying as adults juveniles who committed serious crimes. I wanted him to think about the kids who only make one mistake, and should be treated like kids because that's why we have a juvenile justice system, to give them a change to make a clean start. I could tell he was really listening to me.

When he was inaugurated Governor of Virginia, that was a very good day. We were there. Remind me sometime to tell you about the prayer breakfast, it was a hoot.
