just to be clear... on my secondary ide channel properties dialog, on the advanced settings tab, the Device 0 setting had PIO Only under Transfer Mode. i reset it to DMA if available, and after reboot, the Current Transfer Mode now reads Ultra DMA Mode. Device 1 has Not Applicable under Current Transfer Mode
