The following reference to Ancor's new product comes from on article on GigEtherNet at: japanbiztech.com There are also new entries from the Fibre Channel and ATM camps, which are competing with Gigabit Ethernet. Ancor Communications will begin to ship a 12-port Fast Ethernet switch using 1-port Gigabit Ethernet for the uplink in 1997, while Fore Systems, Inc of the US is developing a Gigabit Ethernet switch module to be used in conjunction with ATM switch modules.
