I covered my tax-loss selling shorts for a 52% gain, vs. 3% for the Russell 2000

sold mkt cap bought change% instit ownership 12 mo. RS (11/28)
ESAF 25/32 15M 1/2 -36% 0.4% 17
LDSD 7/8 12M 5/16 -64% 0% 14
TNCX 1 5/16 27M 19/32 -55% 2% 9

average change in price: -52%

change in Russell 2000: -3%

So my short selections outperformed the RUT by 49%. This is a lot better than my previous two years. I attribute the improved performance to shorting lower-priced stocks (~$1 vs. ~$5) and to luck with timing (a bear market is reaming low-RS tech stocks this month).

period of short sale:
sold 11/28/00
bought 12/21/00
