I have accounts at both ETrade and Ameritrade. ETrade really does suck in comparison. In addition to the down time problems at ETrade - I find them to offset the order placed time by 1 minute - which allows the MM's to play some nice games. They also won't take electronic bids at 1/32 which also allows them to let their MM's play games. My Ameritrade account accepts 1/32 bids electronically and doesn't seem to play the same games ETrade does. Yesterday I placed a sell order in my ETrade account for a stock at $3. After a few minutes the bid on the stock went up to 3 1/16 and I still didn't get a fill. I called ETrade and they said they were having some technical problems and needed to cancel and re-post the sell order. I had them re-post the order to sell at the current bid and the bid immediately dropped to 2 7/8 from 3 1/16 and of course I did not get a fill. I cancelled the order.

BEWARE ETRADE!!!!!
