These guys (Edison) made $1.5 Billion in 1998, $1.2 Billion in 1999 and 500 Million early this year and now they cry about going bankrupt if the rates are not raised. What did they do with all that money? Did they pass it on to customers? Noooooo. I remember the days in Chicago when they were giving away free light bulbs when you pay your bill so that you replace the bulbs as soon as they are blown.

Remember the oil companies, when there was shortage and every body conserved, they raised prices saying since less oil was used, they did not have enough revenue. Same thing will happen with electricity too! They should build more power plants in the middle of nowheres, which are plenty in USA.
