edamo-re: real world & valuation

apparent that the real world of business and how companies are valued hasn't enlightened some financial pundits.

How so?

......................................

too many less then conservative "metrics" are thrown about...

What are they? Please cite specific guidelines.

.......................................

ask a real world question, apply history and market psychology...

"will the whole world have broadband (brcm) much like all the population owns cell phones (qcom)?"

Aren't techno gadgets essential for "quality of life"?

Require the whole world for the market share? If not, what is it?

No impact of the internet revolution, specifically broadband, on productivity, competition or economic system?

......................................

many parallels in the stocks and their perceptions which included inflated and ultimate deflated share price....

How best to avoid?

.....................................

some day analysts will return to the earth and value companies as once they were....not based on unknown future but on the tangible present....if they did, the dot.coms would have never had the chance to fail....

How so? Please assign specifics.
