New Amidex fund
TransNations Investments will open the Amidex Technology Fund to investors in February. The fund is currently raising cash through a private subscription that ends on Feb. 15. Like the firm's flagship $16 million Amidex 35 (AMDEX: news, msgs) , the new fund will invest in 35 Israeli companies that list on the Nasdaq exchange. Fund manager Boaz Rahav told CBS.MarketWatch.com that there would be no duplication of companies, however. Average market cap on the new tech fund is $250 million, a tenth of the average company found in the Amidex 35, Rahav said. Communications software developer Ulticom (ULCM: news, msgs) , a spin-off of Comverse Technology (CMVT: news, msgs) , represents the largest company in the proposed portfolio with a market cap of $1.6 billion.
