gott more on discarded 'old' virus defs.... a while ago i booted into win98se to install the 12/20 defs there. but before doing so, i totally emptied the protected files from the recycle bin. after installing the new defs, i rechecked the bin. there were 315 files there. a quick perusal of their filenames revealed things like naveng, navex and virscan. so there appears to be a degree of 'out-with-the-old-in-with-the-new activity whenever we do an update. fwiw.... :) mark
