Saab news:
Page 3 of the December 25 issue of Autoweek shows the next Saab 9-3 during testing. The jist of the copy discusses how the styling appears to that of a Saturn, but some useful info is included. The car is set for "launch" in two years, with it's debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2002. It will be built on the GM Epsilon front drive chassis, along with the Opel/Vauxhall Vectra AND the replacements for the Pontiac, Chevy, and Buick midsized sedans! And yes, the engine specified is the 225hp Saab variable compression 1.6l engine. Saab=GM. By the way, apparently Saab intends to double sales in next five years to 250,000 annually, as they too will build an SUV guzzler/smogger. The VC/SCC engine is a wonderful engineering feat, providing high HP, high torque, and high economy; along with reduced emissions.
