free virus removal tools from symantec....

symantec.com

it's a good idea not to wait until christmas to see if any of these viruses are inhabiting your system. by visiting the above link, you can seek out free scans for any of the below-listed viruses.

W32.Navidad Removal
W32.HLLW.QAZ.A Removal
W95.MTX Removal
W32.FunLove.4099 Removal
W32.Kriz Removal
W32.HybrisF Removal

for example, if you click on the kriz link, you'll find this:

"For those of you not currently using up-to-date antivirus software, Symantec has created an online application that will scan your PC (over the internet) for W32.Kriz. If your system is infected, you will be redirected back to this location. After returning to this page, download the small utility listed below in order to remove the W32.Kriz virus. Click here to begin the online scan."

security.norton.com

This tool is a preventive measure against the W32.Kriz virus. It will not repair damage done after the virus has been launched. Please download the tool immediately and follow the instructions on this page."

(symantec goes on to note that virus definitions dated all the way back to 9/1/99 will detect and clean this virus.)

so for you folks who don't have the antivirus software installed, here's an opportunity to scan for (and repair!) some popular viruses.

good luck

:)
