Bobby, good thinking from my viewpoint. How dependent do you think the Chinese want to be on Mr. Clinton and Alan Greenspan. As you were joking they won't go on an announced gold standard but turning some Hong Kong dollars into gold is real essential for maintaining some autonomy from the United States. I don't think the Chinese (unlike the Japanese) will bury it all in the US Bond market to help us finance our debt and then find themselves chained to our monetary policy even more.

The gold buying obviously hasn't and wont be advertised, so it should be real interesting now and especially after July to see if we can follow what's going on.
