To Shorts and Longs: I have been lurking on the Yahoo ICIX board for the last 9 days. A fairly time intensive process, but looking for any public information as a new stockholder. (lots of crude to find an occassional gem) Is it not true that WCOM must spin off ICIX and must do so within 6 months? If that is the case, would you not be lining up a buyer if you were Ebbers right now. Like an option, you could get the best price early. As the clock ticks down to six months you would have to shed it. My point in wondering about this is that I believe this deal will happen very early in 2001. In January. I also believe it is a win for all parties. Everyone gives something and everyone gets something they want. Very appropriate at this time of the year. No annoucement until 2001. Then longs will rule. Can't blame the shorts they are just trying to make a buck like the longs. Just depends if you have a yin or yang perspective. A couple of names I have heard that may want to acquire the debt reduced surviving ICIX are SBC and Deutche Telecom. Just looking right now. There are a lot of pieces to this puzzle, coupled with market mayhem, I can see why there is uncertainty. I would of loved to of been buying at these levels. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. WWW
