Mqurice,

A while back you and I had a discussion re: which technology was going to dominate 3G - CDMA2000 or WCDMA.

At the time (about 7 months ago?) it seemed many carriers were voicing their intention to go WCDMA but you, I, and many others sorta dismissed it - citing the argument "you can't build what you don't have."

I remember a simile you used; carriers were just positioning themselves, similar to an Olympic arena bike race. Carriers were pedaling slowly, strategizing, watching what the others were doing, and then there would be a mad dash to the finish with a flurry of contract committments at the last second.

Mq, frankly, I believe the writing is on the wall - much to my chagrin, its gonna be a wcdma-centric 3G world. It's getting too hard to lump all wcdma news into FUD anymore. Korea, Taiwan, N.Z., and announcements like this:

Has your view changed over the last 7 months as mine has?
