Oldtrader.....Ref: Keating less controversial huh?

Keating's candor may have kept him from becoming Attorney
General, and knocked him out of contention for Vice Pres.
this summer.

One comment he made earlier this year has really haunted
him. The following taken from this mornings Oklahoman
Newspaper.

He upset teachers earlier this year when he told a group of
College Students he would deal with a "Teachers Union"
which he was battling over funding by "homicide." Keating
to his credit did apologize for this statement, but the harm
had already been done.

Hardly a statement that would put one in good standing to
become Attorney General, or anything else for that matter.
