Agreed, but the talking heads told them that MSFT can only go up. Hey, MSFT itself thought so, buying their own stock at the peak and selling naked puts as a program to lower their cost of buying the stock, if management was acting like MSFT can only go up, why should the foot soldier think differently? I am sure the broker that lent them the money strongly encouraged them, and when the stock dropped under $100 probably called them up to get them to "double up" (g).
