Cramer made 2% the year before. So average out 35% and 2% and its still an extremely poor performance given the fact that even dummy investors made thousands of percent in the bullmarket.

No, he made 2% in 1998. Last year he made 60+. This year about 35%.

thestreet.com

How many of the "dummy investors" that made all those "thousands of percent" (those would be 10-baggers, 20-baggers, etc) manage to keep any of it over the past nine months? Those that fervently believed in ICGE and haven't sold any? Those that fervently believed in PCLN and haven't sold any? Those that fervently believed in <put your favorite bubble stock here> and haven't sold any? Sure, a few may have had 10+ baggers by luck (and a few by smarts, but those aren't the "dummy investors" we're discussing), but few of the lucky dumb ones kept much.

The real reason Cramer's hated here is the reason these threads are so dangerous: he's not in love with this stock like most here are. These SI threads convince you to hold stocks that you should be selling.

All the lovers of a stock get together and talk about how it's the Best Stock in the Entire Universe and how stupid the market is for selling it off. Have to back up that truck at these levels. (Of course, after a couple of more weeks you need a bigger truck.) Anyone who disagrees is shouted down and called either stupid or short (such as: siliconinvestor.com. Anyone thinking of selling is convinced not to sell and to even buy more in a sort of reverse-Alcoholics Anonymous moral support group.

In an environment like this it's easy to believe that Cramer is an Evil Manipulator. He must be because he doesn't just love this stock more than his mother and actually has the gall to say he thinks it's going down. Either he's stupid or we are and since it ain't us it must be him. And if our stock goes down, since we're not stupid it must be the shorties/MM/arbs/etc manipulating the stock.
