Try going to Configure|Prefetch and reduce the values in pages, threads and depth. I don't know how well these things do what they say, on my machine I just run them at the minimum values for my kind of browsing.

My knowledge of Windows resource management is virtually zero, but I think you see this warning if the number of files running is too high, not because of the aggregate size of them. If you reduce those values it might do the trick.

Haven't figured out yet whether the keywords I have programmed in Blocking have resulted in prefetching those pages.

The prefetch keywords and the blocking keywords are on two separate lists -- right? 'Blocking' keywords work only to prevent your computer from requesting the content of ads imbedded in the pages you're reading. It's a little tricky, on the Naviscope Block & Filter dialog box, making sure you're in the right list.
