Limtex, I suggest you look at the history of the market in the 16 years period between 1966 and 1982 (Dow bound for 16 years between 500 and 1000). During that period, there were three or four opportunities to buy excellent nascent companies like INTC and AMAT at intrinsic values such as one year sale, or ao to 15 times trailing earnings. We may have a similar period ahead and once more great nascent companies may be available at bargain prices. Few months back, Jay asked me for "fair valuations" on SNDK and SSTI, and my response was, "it depends" and I gave him three levels, "Bear market", "Neutral" and "Bull" markets "fair valuations". SSTI has already gone under what I then considered a "fair" bear market valuation, SNDK just reached this level last week, and my fear is that real bear markets offer real "uncommon" values, thus "fair bear market value" might be considered rich if we indeed get into a real bear market.
