Not right now. I've read a number of articles which compare the amounts paid in federal taxes with the amounts of federal spending by state. States like MA, CT, NY, PA, NJ pay much more in federal taxes than the federal govt spends in those states. The opposite is true in southern and western states.

Federal spending includes a lot of things - defense spending, Social Security payments, federal highway and other infrastructure spending, aid for agriculture, etc.

If I can remember where I've read this, I'll post it.
