** QUESTION ** Need help finding a new online broker.

I am interested in information on brokerages with the best order execution and easy access to stocks for shorting.

I have used MB Trading for this purpose in the past and really liked their tools. If I wanted to short a stock, I could enter its symbol online and immediately determine if it was shortable. I have since tried to do the same with Schwab with no luck. (They actually want me to talk to a REAL person. Imagine that!)

I would like to use one of the major brokers to do short-term online trading, preferably one that allows easy importing to Quicken 2000. I want a long list of shortable stocks, low commissions, immediate and reliable order execution, and quick access to trading gains...so I can quickly short another P.O.S. stock!

Does anyone have experience with any of the following brokers in this regard:

NDB
DATEK
E-TRADE
DLJ DIRECT
AMERITRADE
WATERHOUSE
