Just an idea.

Indeed, and a good one that I've been pondering myself, but mainly from the view of an outright attack on our currency as a prelude to war.

That type of repatriation would be VERY scary, equating to selling the family jewels at a yard sale.

That's a scenario that would almost make me run for the gold market, because it would be tantamount to economic protectionism through currency competition which could only lead to depression and eventual outright warfare.
