Market forcast for the next month or so. Down! The market will be up for this week probably, however, I think it is inevitable that more companies will announce slower growth. MUEI did in mid-May, and now Intel. Since Intel sells most of the chips that go into computers, it would seem reasonable to expect that a few other companies are slowing down also, particularly Gateway, since they sell mostly to consumers. Although Compaq did say that they were comfortable with forecasts, the problem with this is that it is flat with the previous quarter, and they don't know about June, yet. June will probably be slower than May and April as it usually is. Although MUEI did say that the server business was strong, Dell could still get caught in the down draft. And Dell did warn about expecting continued growth at recent levels. So while I still believe that the June appreciation will take effect this week, I would say that by next Monday, the market is going to start heading south, just like it did last summer.
