My theory on lack of "trumpeting" 144Kbps service in Korea. A lot of things regarding Qualcomm, Qualcomm products and technologies, and products and services available from service providers using Qualcomm stuff reminds me of something someone once said to me regarding the diploma I received from the college I went to (which shall remain nameless ...) The diploma was in Latin. (Almost everyone I know does NOT know Latin, so ... it is completely unintelligible). The typeset was cursive and wispy. There were no bold graphics or borders. The whole thing was in black ink only. It was very plain and under-stated. The comment someone said regarding the diploma was : "It's a sort of 'reverse pretentiousness.' If this were a diploma from some ordinary college, you can be sure that the diploma would be very attractive; with careful design considerations by artists and graphic design people, etc." Qualcomm does not NEED to be boasting all over the place. CDMA will most likely take over the whole world. Only the people who have nothing (or -- near-nothing) to offer need to endlessly bombard us with news releases and public relations about how "great" their stuff is ... Jon. P.S. 10:38 A.M. edit -- I just dug my diploma out of the back of my closet. It actually is not in cursive. (But everything else I said was correct). The cursive one was from another member of my family ...
