Yes, Americans are moving away from the Democratic party in droves because of Gore's campaign... Gore
abandoned the progressive issues and failed to address issues like universal health insurance, public financing
of public elections, anti-union labor laws, consumer protections, renewable energy, corporate crime, welfare,
WTO-NAFTA, the death penalty, the drug war, affordable housing, and child poverty... ignoring these
long-standing Democratic Party concerns contributed to the feeling of many voters that voting for Gore meant
nothing to them, but these are the issues that brought people to the Democratic Party for many years and had
been the reliable source for Democratic votes..... Gore abandoned those issues and he abandoned those
people, and he began to reinvent himself and started espousing the false ring of populist rhetoric... this is what
brought his downfall.....

that you think that if Gore had played the traditional liberal record he would have retained Demo votes that deserted him and consequently won the election?
