cool thing about Schwab is they have none of the "weird" margin rules Just for the sake of discussion, Schwab is, if not breaking, then severely bending margin rules. All of the other firms are just following what the rules say. Even if you call the FRB (we did), they tell you that "day trading calls" are being correctly enforced (they make no sense, IMO, but that's how the stupid rule is written). Charlie gets away with it because he is big money. So its not that we have "tightened down," it's just that most of us are small enough to still be scared s-less about ignoring margin rules.
