David,

I had two questions for you.

I have listened to bits and pieces of the c.c.,
but didn't hear detailed responses to the following...

First, exactly which components are constrained?
Are they the microprocessors and the LCD screens?

Second, any word on new product introductions for 2001?
What will the latest Palms look like and what functionality
will they have compared to prior generations? In particular,
I was interested if you knew if any devices were actually shown
at PalmSource 2000 and if people are sworn to secrecy about
specifications until an official announcement is made.

In particular I was curious about the SD/MMC slot mentioned
in the earnings press release...

At the same event, Palm demonstrated devices working with Secure Digital (SD) expansion cards and Bluetooth connectivity technologies. SD cards, the size of a postage stamp, add data storage and input/output capabilities to future Palm handheld devices. The first of these advanced Palm handheld devices is expected to begin shipping in the first half of 2001.
