If this is the source of your investment inspiration, you've made a bad decision. He is too dimwitted to understand the difference in reactions.

I think we can all agree that there is a problem when it comes to people who make up bogus rumors etc. But believe it or not stocks do go down too for reasons other than manipulation. Sometimes there are good reasons and there are also legitimate ways to profit if that's the case. A dollar made short spends the same as a dollar made long. If somebody has foresight and discovers something that will impact a stock negatively, then there's nothing wrong with profiting from that situation. Of course there will always be hangers-on that will complain but if they're left holding the bag because they didn't take the time to understand that there could be legitimate reasons for a sell off, they have only themselves to blame, or they can always buy more if they feel the market's wrong. That's what makes a market and that's why short selling is allowed by the exchanges.

What I really don't understand here is why all the complaining by the bulls? If JDSU's so great, why not back up the truck. This is a gift and bulls should be glad, not po'd.

Me, I'm a former JDSU holder and I consider myself lucky to have sold much higher. I think (hope) I understand the difference between a company and a stock. For me, now, JDSU is a great company, but broken stock. The two don't always work in tandem and a divergence means either opportunity or problem. That's why I'm here and I suspect many others are too. I don't understand why there should be a problem with me making my views known even though I don't currently own stock. I'd actually be the first to pounce if I thought JDSU wouldn't get any cheaper.

Also Master, I do remember you saying that you're also out of the market. You sure post a lot for someone doesn't own JDSU. Or don't you really? One way or another it doesn't matter anyway. What brings people here is the discussion. In case people haven't noticed, there are probably more than double the posts (and differing views) here on this board than there used to be. That action is what brings people here and makes it worthwhile.
