no doubt. i wasn't suggesting anyone would disconnect. i'm only saying there's little money in it, especially when considering the huge capital investments that have been poured into all sorts of internet infrastructure. the internet is per se a destroyer of informational deficits, and thus of profit margins. the entire tech/telecom arena is in a vicious deflationary spiral, and that's not just referring to the stock prices, which merely mirror/discount the happenings in the real world.
i think never before in human history has so much capital been destroyed in such a short time as in the telecom investment boom of the late '90's...and of course the debt load that is supported by the overcapacities that have been created looms ever larger.
