The new Palm products will be designed around the upcoming Palm OS 4.0 which will have :
-- At last week's PalmSource(TM) 2000 developers' conference, Palm released to developers the beta version of the Palm OS 4.0, which supports telephony, 16-bit color, an SMS client, notification of e-mail and other events, and enhanced security features. Palm also communicated its plans for the development of Palm OS 5.0, which will support ARM processor technology.
During the CC, they didn't give out more details about the SD slots. They didn't say if it's a read-only (like Sony memory sticks now) or fully rewritable slot.
-- At the same event, Palm demonstrated devices working with Secure Digital (SD) expansion cards and Bluetooth connectivity technologies. SD cards, the size of a postage stamp, add data storage and input/output capabilities to future Palm handheld devices. The first of these advanced Palm handheld devices is expected to begin shipping in the first half of 2001.
