Lowering class sizes and raising education spending per se just causes more inflation. You just get into a spending race among adjacent jurisdictions to keep personnel in your hire. If you're going to reduce class sizes and lower the teacher workload, the rational offset would be to reduce salaries and other resources. Unfortunately, the smaller the class sizes, the more buildings, rooms, and support staff who don't teach are needed. Education spending is already growing in the 10-15 percent per year area.
