The Times reported that Bush's most specific comments on the case came at a news
conference in Washington state last spring. "I stand on the side of innovation, not
litigation," Bush said. "What I am worried about is if this company were to be broken up,
this engine of change and this engine of growth."

At a hearing in 1998, Ashcroft expressed serious reservations about any government
role in technology policy. "Frankly, the best thing that the politicians in Congress could
do for the nation and this vital industry is to keep their hands off a part of the economy
they do not understand," he said.

See Phillip Morris is at 44.5 more than doubled from the 20 level it was at a few months ago. MSFT is considered a bigger BUSH stock than MO.
