Does anyone know how the Jewelry segment has performed in past recessions or how I could find out?

Right now I am wondering about Zale Corp.(ZLC) This is one of the largest jewelry retailers. The stock is priced assuming a growth of about 7%(its P/E is 7) but many industry analysts think profits will increase almost 20% per year even with a recession. Either way I think it is a pretty good choice because it is already priced for a recession but if it would miraculously meet 20% per year it could easily double or better.

In any case I am looking though over 400 promising stocks which is far more in-depth than I have ever done and will be sure to post my value picks. My last value picks have done amazingly well rain or shine, though I only started putting money in them at the end of May.

Also, I think its funny how this board only gets heavy traffic after the stock market takes a deep dive. The idea is to think about it before it crashes!
