I think it's too early to ponder whether GW Bush has to worry about his re-election in 2004 or not.... So many dramatic events can occur in the meantime. Events that might reveal the outstanding statesmanship of George W. Bush.

In the Middle East, for instance, if the Israelis finally agree to give the PLO sovereignty over East Jerusalem then Pres. Bush should convince Iran and other hardcore anti-Zionist Arab countries that it is in the interest of the Islamic faith to show tolerance for a non-aggressive, pacific Israeli state --just as was the case in Andalucia back in the XVth century. The fact is that we can't expect Iran and other Arab countries to recognize a colonialist, arrogant, and over-powerful (nukes) Zionist state whereas we can call on to Islam's century-old tolerance for religious minorities --at least in the case of both Christian and Judaic faiths.
