Funny you should pick Vargas Llosa as an example. Maybe you are talking about some of the early work like The Green House?? Take a crack at War of the End of the World, which is very accessible. M2
PS Vargas Llosa, of course, is an extremely conservative political figure. Perhaps the thread should be discussing more progressive writers.
