A Globalstar phone doesn't do everything a cell phone does. It will probably never work indoors. But you can use it when you're going 75 mph if you have a car kit; you can even hold the optional handset to your ear if you prefer that over the hands-free approach. But a Globalstar phone does things that a cellular phone doesn't. This morning, on national TV news I saw an interview with a town resident complaining that bad weather had knocked out all communication: "phone, internet and cellular". No way to get a message out, he said. Too bad he didn't know about and have a G* phone. He had to rely on a TV news crew.
